Petersburg Tourism

The Petersburg Tourism Corporation was founded in 2006 to promote one of Virginia’s most historic and culturally diverse regions. With more than 400 years of history, Petersburg offers visitors a wide range of attractions, dining, events, outdoor experiences, and historic destinations.

The Challenge

Petersburg Tourism needed a website that could showcase the breadth of the region without overwhelming visitors with too many choices. The experience needed to organize a large amount of tourism content in a way that felt intuitive, visual, and easy to explore across desktop and mobile devices.

The new site also needed to support trip planning, promote timely events and attractions, and give the tourism team a flexible way to keep destination content current.

What We Did

We created a vibrant, image-driven website that highlights Petersburg’s history, attractions, dining, events, and outdoor experiences. Clear labels, visual cues, and streamlined navigation help visitors quickly discover what to do, where to go, and how to plan their stay.

A custom travel planner allows users to save attractions, restaurants, events, and other content to a personalized itinerary. The site was built on a flexible WordPress platform, giving the Petersburg Tourism team an efficient way to publish events, articles, destination updates, galleries, and seasonal content.
